Working at height is a key part of commercial and industrial electrical work — and doing it safely is absolutely non-negotiable.
As part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety, we carry out rolling 6-monthly harness inspections to ensure all fall-arrest equipment remains fully compliant, certified, and fit for purpose. These inspections form an important part of our wider safety programme and help ensure our engineers are protected whenever working at height on site.
Harness inspections involve detailed checks of safety harnesses, lanyards, connectors, buckles, stitching, shock absorbers, and attachment points to identify any signs of wear, damage, deterioration, or defects that could compromise safety. By carrying out regular inspections and maintaining accurate records, we can ensure all equipment continues to meet current safety regulations and manufacturer standards.
In the commercial and industrial sectors, engineers are often required to work from access equipment, elevated platforms, steelwork, and other high-level areas where the correct use of fall protection equipment is essential. Having regularly inspected and properly maintained equipment not only helps reduce risk on site, but also gives our clients confidence that safety remains a priority throughout every stage of a project.
At Wisbech Electrical, safety isn’t treated as a one-off task or box-ticking exercise — it’s an ongoing commitment embedded into our day-to-day operations, training, and site procedures. Protecting our team, clients, and everyone working around us will always remain one of our highest priorities.
